Solo exhibition
@ Gallery FUURO

I first met Hayakawa, the owner of FUURO, when I was assisting with the display fixtures for a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Chiaki Shoji, held at the gallery.
“I'd like to hear more about your work next time.”
That day, I called my sister to a nearby café and, filled with excitement, told her the news.
I still vividly remember our conversation and the scene around us.
“Would it be possible to make a solo exhibition here—in two years?”
Hayakawa said this, after taking the time to listen carefully to my long and rambling thoughts over the entire day.
Back then, I hadn't yet found a clear direction in my work.
All I could say was, “I just want to have a solo exhibition in Tokyo!” while wandering aimlessly.
From then on, gallery FUURO became like a lighthouse to me.
This will be my fourth exhibition there.
Though I'm still wandering,
and my bad habits haven't changed, it has already been eleven years.
The title I chose, "full", embraces both the good and the bad—
a rush of emotions, the feeling of a full heart,
and the immeasurable force of a rising tide, all layered together into form.
I would be truly grateful if you could take the time to view it.
Thank you very much.
